Custom built BSA MX type motorcycle from a California collector. The engine was seized when I purchased and in need of a rebuild. The big end of the con rod had seized due to lack of oil damaging the rod and crankshaft. The crankshaft was sent to a Detroit crankshaft grinder to clean up the damage. I replaced the rod with a superior T100 with new Glacier bearings along with new piston and rings. The sludge trap and oil passages were cleaned to alow oil passage to the rod. BSA Lightning, fully rebuilt and restored in 2000 and has done 12, 000 miles since.
The engine was built by SRM with needle roller main bearing conversion, balanced crank and Norman Hyde clutch. It also has Boyer electronic ignition. The bike is pretty much standard other than stainless steel silencers, alloy rims ( Dunlop rear and Borrani front), TT100 tyres and Hagon shocks. Here is a very pretty BSA A7, turned out in the great looking RocketGoldstar style of the period. A great compromise if you want an easy starting, easy to live with type bike at a fraction of the cost of a genuine RocketGoldstar
This example is very easy to start. Magneto has been overhauled by TonyCooper in 2022. The bike sounds very well and ticks over well. There??s no smokeand no rattles or knocks

1957 BSA Dandy for light restoration. Original transferable registration
For sale is my BSA Dandy, I bought this with my Grandad as a project for us to work on but sadly this can't now commence. We bought it as it was a very straight, clean and original bike needing only cosmetics and a few bolt on chrome pieces and engine sorting, the engine is seized.
